Classic czech strong liqueur is from Carlsbad and is infused with herbs – is called Becherovka. It was firstly produced as a cure for stomach and after that, people liked the taste so much that started drinking it on a variety of festivals and events for fun. The pharmacist Josef Vitius Becher created it in 1807 and began to distribute this drink. And already in 1841, his son, Johann Becher continued producing this drink. The production of the drink includes the following: a mixture of more than twenty herbs is poured into scrim bags and abandoned for about a week. Then all this mix is poured into oak barrels, mixed with sugar and water, and is left to infuse in barrels for 2-3 months. It is usually used chilled, as a separate drink. But it can be also used as an ingredient for cocktails or added to tea/coffee.
